Q. Compared to traditional measures will Pumpwatch measures give different results?

A. Yes !!!

Firstly it has been standard practice to simply ignore the predictable thermal contraction of traditional metal measures. For fuel coming from an underground tank at soil temperatures the error is systematic and it is typically -0.05% representing 50% of the permitted limit of error ! Pumpwatch measures eliminate this error through the use of thermally stable carbon fibre epoxy construction.
Secondly, random errors routinely occur with the use of traditional measures. These include not levelling the measure and incorrect drainage periods. Pumpwatch measures address both these errors with the integrated spirit level and the bottom discharge/ drainage valve.

A larger random error is caused by the lack of resolution in the small sight glasses, parallel to the neck of traditional measure.

Pumpwatch measures dramatically minimise this random operator error by its tall integrated measurement tube, permitting previously impossible resolution of 1ml= 2mm.
